πŸ“° FAAM PTA Newsletter - 8 Sep 2024

8 SEPTEMBER 2024

The school year is off to a great start, and we are so impressed at the sales of our discount cards already! If you're not new at FAAM, you know that our big fundraiser has traditionally been Boosterthon, which raised $50,000 for our school last year. The downside is that we actually raised over $80,000, but Boosterthon took a huge cut. The discount cards enable us to keep 100% of the profits to go directly toward our school. We are striving for every child to sell 5 cards, but we have lots of prizes and incentives to those who can sell more, including:

🌟 Top class in each grade level gets a dance party

🌟 Top class overall gets a field trip to the planetarium

🌟 Top individual seller gets a $250 gift card

🌟 2nd place individual seller gets a $150 gift card

🌟 Every 10 cards sold enters you in a drawing for a $100 gift card

Remember you can turn in your sheet every Friday and Monday to start giving people the cards they ordered, but you can keep selling through September. Help us reach our goal of $60,000, and the whole school will get an inflatable bounce house party!

The money raised will go toward helping us paint the entire school. You've probably seen how great and colorful the new mural is by the front office. Our goal is to make the whole school feel bright, colorful, and welcoming. The entire school will be painted by the end of the year, and our hope is that we will be able to add more of these murals as well.

πŸ—“οΈ One big calendar change: we originally planned to have the FAAM Fling in the fall this year, but we have decided to try that next year instead. Instead, we'll have the Drive-In this fall, and it will be October 24th. The Fling will be April 25th. Be on the lookout about preorders for the Drive-In!

πŸ“’ Information about how to purchase a yearbook will go out soon. We are going to start preorders in the fall this year. In the meantime, you can send pictures to: yearbook@faampta.org. Consider sending first day of school pictures, pictures in the new blue Dr. Seuss shirt, pictures of students in their college team shirt last Friday, pictures from Spirit Nights, and/or pictures from their extracurricular activities.

Important Upcoming Events

Mark your calendars for the following upcoming events:

Our website coordinator, Jenn Nash, has worked so hard on updating our new website. It is easier to access with updated pictures and a cleaner look. Here's what you can find there, so check it out:

  • Join the PTA We have prided ourselves on having 100% membership every year. Help us reach that goal this year! It's only $5 to join.
  • Volunteer This year our goal is to get 100% participation from each child's family. It does not have to be a parent, but your child will get credit if someone from his or her family volunteers, and we will have prizes for classes that receive 100% participation.
  • Calendar of Events
  • Teachers' Favorite Things Lists We will be updating this in the coming weeks, adding the new teachers and updating the lists for teachers who changed grade levels this year.
  • Spirit Store Our spirit store manager, Allison Prillaman, will also have the store open every Thursday from 8:15-8:45 a.m. until Thanksgiving Break if you'd like to shop in person.
